Americans Are Making Jokes About The $1,200 Stimulus Checks And Here’s 33 Of The Best Ones
1.4Mviews
The United States government has sent out stimulus checks to some residents to help keep them afloat during the coronavirus quarantine. It’s all some people are talking about, so it’s no wonder that these checks have become the focus of a lot of jokes on the internet.
The checks are each worth 1,200 dollars and internet users are joking about how they’re already planning to buy TVs, laptops, and spend the money as soon as they can. While others are poking fun at the fact that it’s now the IRS sending them money, instead of the other way around.
“We can confirm that payments are beginning to arrive in some Americans’ accounts," a senior Treasury official told ABC News. Scroll down for the best stimulus check jokes that Bored Panda has compiled, upvote your faves, and let us know in the comments what you’re going to do with your check if you live in the US, dear Pandas. And read on for Bored Panda's interview with financial expert Sam Dogen, founder of the Financial Samurai blog, about stimulus checks and how much they'll help Americans out.

Does the weak Cheeto represent the poor leadership of the Orange Cheeto in the White House?
"So long as Americans are spending the money, that helps stimulate and support the economy. Although saving money is good, saving money actually doesn’t do much in the short run to help the economy. In the long run, maybe it helps by creating more financially secure people to not become a burden," Dogen from the Financial Samurai told us.
"I believe everything is rational. If people want to use their money to spend on TVs and other things, its because they’ve got their basics already taken care of. Here’s how millionaires are spending their checks."
Trump only agreed to the $1200 because it's an election year.
Your "check" comes with tRump's name on it ... just like his "charity" ... he got others to give him money then put his name on the checks like it was his money to give. The only exception with his charity and the stimulus check, he usually paid himself.
Dogen believes that 1,200 dollars per person should help individuals for at least a month. "If you add on the extra 600 dollars a month in unemployment benefits, that’s a decent amount of money," he said.
"For example, in California, you can get 4,200 dollars a month in unemployment benefits now. And then if you add on another 1,200, that’s 5,600 dollars. It’s really the added unemployment benefits that will really help those who have lost their jobs," Dogen pointed out.
In the meantime, think about this from Forbes . . . Americans making 1 Million will receive $1.7 million stimulus checks . . . https://www.forbes.com/sites/shaharziv/2020/04/14/why-are-rich-americans-getting-17-million-stimulus-checks/#643e0518665b
The BBC reports that President Donald Trump’s name will be printed on the paper checks that will be sent out to financially-struggling Americans. This is the very first time that a US president’s name will show up on a federal government handout.
Not surprisingly, some are worried that this decision might delay checks arriving. The president denied that there will be a delay, as did the Treasury Department. However, two senior IRS officials told the Washington Post that the first batch of checks might arrive slower because of this.
"You are getting your money late because the President thinks it is more important that his name be on the cheque than that you are able to pay your bills on time," Democratic Senator Brian Schatz shared his opinion on Twitter.
The stimulus checks are part of a 2 trillion (that’s right, trillion) dollar relief package that will help out more than 80 million US citizens. And Americans need it now more than ever. Around 16 million people lost their jobs in the US just in the past month and the situation may get worse before it gets better.
I'm putting it in savings rather than checking so I don't spend it accidentally. I have a disability claim with Social Security that could take up to a year to be resolved, so I might need it before then.
now they get to tell people "its in the mail" instead of hearing it for years
This would mean, in most cases, that your parent(s) is/are spending way, way, way more than $1200 each year to support you and put you through college.
Many banking apps have a feature that lets you set a notification for any deposits...
Don't get me wrong, I'll damn sure take the money, ( if it ever comes). I'm just wondering where it's coming from and how the government is going to get it back. I'm betting higher taxes on the middle class. It damn sure won't be on corporations or 1%ers.
It'll be a mixture of quantitative easing (printing money) and a bond issue. Yeah, ya'll will be paying it back out of taxes for many, many years. It's certainly not a free lunch.
"Stimulus check" to stimulate people to forget how this administration handled the pandemic so by november they'll still remember the $1200 gift but have forgotten the 26 000 deaths.
We're actually projected to have over 61,000 deaths before August. And that's without a second spike brought about by red states acting like idiots.
Plus side: the more idiotic the red states behave, the less republican voters survive. Every cloud has a silver lining...;)
Wait, which states have been ground zero and had politicians until March telling people to go to festivals and marathons?
Projected? By whom? I don't believe a word they say about anything.

Lmao you mean red states like VIRGINIA?
Currently at 34K deaths.... aaaaand people are protesting health orders as a hoax.
I absolutely agree. Its sad.
Sad but true
Lol. Explain to me how the government could STOP A VIRUS? Initiating a national lockdown in February? People would have been rioting in the streets. Stock piling more ventilators? Waste of tax payers money! Don’t spend money until you need them you’d say. I get that it’s convenient to blame the government but realize that thousands of people were always going to die from this.
By keeping the infection-rate as low as possible, which means keeping people apart as much as possible AND stocking up on intensive-care-beds and respirators. If your health-care system was wonky already, now's the point where that gets noticed. It would have helped to have a plan in the boxes for such a situation already. If only smart people had had a plan, if only there were an agency that makes such plans. You could call it "Centre for Disease Control" or something!
Properly handled, the death rate of Covid is less than 1%. However, 10-15% of cases will turn up in critical care. If you aren't careful, the USA is going to be another Italy which just hit 12% death rate because they did not have the infrastructure to handle everyone who had the virus at the same time. No, you can't stop it. But there are things you can do to slow it down and your government is doing pretty much everything BUT those things.
1, by actually doing testing as recommended by everyone who knew anything about the virus. 2, by purchasing ventilators when they become needed. 3, by ensuring doctors and nurses are getting paid for their critical service rather than having them endure pay cuts from the hospitals because "covid doesn't make us money". 4, by not agitating to end the lockdown early because millions of people's lives are apparently less important than the economy. 5, by not blaming everybody except yourself and withholding funding from the WHO. Shall I go on? Maybe look into how some other countries are handling it and see how flat their curve is compared to the USA. Spoiler: It's not looking good for you.
Hi Russian troll Ben Smith, does Putin pay you well?
Fuck, you're stupid. Go lick a toilet seat and spare us further "wisdom."
Ex husband: Are you going to vote for Trump in November? Me: Yeah, no that's definitely NOT going to happen. Ex: But he gave you money! Me: Uh, no. CONGRESS gave me money. That asshole gave me 4 years of entitled ineptitude.
Lou Lopez, since I can't comment directly on yours, I'm putting it here. What is one crime he has committed, with evidence?

But what was your option last time? Sadly that was even better than your option this time. Not a chance Joe Biden beats Trump so you better get used to 4.5 more years of him because that''s what you are going to get. The Democrats did zero soul searching after last time and instead decided to double down, then get into a civil war. Great plan.
I'm banking on Donny Dipshit killing off a bunch of his voters, Dems taking the Senate, and finally impeaching and imprisoning him for his many and varied crimes. First ballot box, then soap box, then the ammo box. Karma doesn't miss.
